Impossible to hold it in…

Hey! Today I was blessed to have a friend to tour around the island with..my family has been sick much of the time that I’ve been here. It’s still been such an enjoyable and focusing kind of time…time to think and yet somehow busy as well. I felt a joy today that I had to describe…it was talking about Jesus today..for today. My friend and I were told among other tourist things to do that we had to visit this trailer called Giovani’s Shrimp Truck (something like that) and we set out to find our shrimp scampi! When we arrived there was a line and we sat down at a table. Having just moved (well, my parents) from Italy, I was thrilled when I realized we had sat by some English speaking Italians! They were precious. I enjoyed all of them, but one of the (to go nameless for now) was especially a blessing to me. He was a pilot with the Navy and had been practicing with our Navy with NATO in Pensacola, FL. and was in Hawaii on vacation for another 2 days and then he would head out. It was one of those unique meetings where you so wish you had more time, but can’t stop trying to convince yourself that you might never see them again. I am not sure how, but somehow I began telling him about Jesus…He was so receptive and knew about him already from his Catholic background. I couldn’t help but believe that God had brought us together for that one momment in time. He said that he was heading back to Italy and although he seemed to really have a hunger for more of the Bible (or at least talking about it), he really had no hope going back. I told him maybe we met right before he went back so that God could show him the purpose he was designed for..to know Jesus and to bring Him glory! There were others around the table…I wish I could have gotten to know them better too. I really enjoyed getting to know my friend. I left feeling like I had a “runner’s high” of some sort…I had so enjoyed getting to know them and then getting to share what He was currently doing in my life…and what He had done for us all. I really hope we’re able to keep in touch, but if not or if so…I pray and trust that God, who loves them more than I could ever express, will continue to draw them closer to Himself. Who was I to have the opportunity to share such world changing news with these precious new friends? I miss them already – isn’t that crazy? God’s love just keeps astounding me!
